Ik kwam toevallig langs dit filmpje en vond het het hele goed vraag.
De reactie eronder was lekker onzinnig: “Ai just added what you said to its data base then used that and all other (mostly stolen) literature to paraphrase what you said, so no it doesnt matter that it was “your opinions” once ai touches it it becomes an amorphous blob of stolen creativity. No one needs to use ai, theyre just lazy.”

Omdat de short wellicht niet altijd online blijft, het transcript. Ja met AI vertaald (Google Translate) en volgens mij gebruikt de site die hem maakte ook AI, betekent dit dan dat deze blogpost “met AI” of “met behulp van AI” gemaakt is?
Werd ik betrapt op valsspelen? Ik beantwoordde vragen voor een artikel. Ik schreef mijn antwoorden en vroeg vervolgens aan AI om ze te ordenen, te verfijnen en mijn persoonlijkheid er een beetje uit te halen. Het was tenslotte het artikel van iemand anders en ik vond niet dat het zoveel Robin nodig had. Nou, de schrijfster mailde me en vertelde me dat ze mijn antwoorden door een AI detector had gehaald en dat het 100% door AI gegenereerd bleek te zijn. O jee, het voelde alsof ik betrapt was op valsspelen. Het punt is, de expertise was van mij, de meningen waren van mij, alles kwam voort uit mijn 30 jaar ervaring in de thuissituatie van mensen. AI had me de ideeën niet gegeven, het had alleen de manier waarop ze klonken veranderd. Ik zie AI als een ander bewerkingshulpmiddel. De publicatie zag het anders. Ze vond mijn antwoorden goed en vroeg me om ze in mijn eigen stijl te herschrijven, dus ik stuurde ze terug en het artikel kon verder. Maar waar trek je de grens? Als AI je helpt je ideeën te ordenen of je teksten te verbeteren, is dat dan jouw werk? Ik denk van wel. Maar wat vind jij ervan?

I really don’t think using AI to correct or improve the wording of your own writing automatically counts as “cheating.” There’s a pretty important difference between asking AI to fix grammar, spelling, awkward phrasing, etc. and asking it to write your ideas for you. And the claim that “once AI touches it, it becomes an amorphous blob of stolen creativity” isn’t really an argument. It’s a dramatic assertion based on a misunderstanding of how these systems work. AI doesn’t simply take what you wrote, add it to a database, and then paste it together with “stolen literature.” Your text can remain entirely your own work and your own ideas while using a tool to help with editing. You can absolutely have legitimate concerns about generative AI, copyright, training data, and academic integrity. But that doesn’t mean every use of AI is automatically cheating or plagiarism. Using a spellchecker doesn’t make your writing less yours, and using an AI-assisted editor isn’t inherently different in that respect. And, ironically, I actually used AI to help improve this response too. I’m not a native English speaker, I’m Dutch, and Dutch people can have a tendency to be rather direct. I wanted to make sure I got my point across without accidentally sounding unnecessarily blunt or rude. The opinions and arguments are still mine; I just used AI to help me express them more naturally in English. So I’d take comments like the previous one with a pretty big grain of salt. There’s a valid discussion to be had about responsible AI use, but “AI touched it, therefore it’s stolen” is more of a slogan than a serious argument.
